Buenos Aires, January 18, 2026 – Total News Agency-TNA- Justice is advancing in a patrimonial and financial investigation centered on the treasurer of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), Pablo Toviggino, for dozens of international trips on luxury private flights whose funding cannot be explained by his formal income as a director of a non-profit association.
According to the case file, Toviggino made at least 72 international trips between 2017 and 2025, for a total of 150 air segments, 71% of which were made on executive aircraft. The estimated average cost per flight is around US$ 150,000, which raises the total expense under analysis to a figure exceeding US$ 7 million.
The judicial investigation is focused on determining the origin of the funds used to finance these trips and on establishing whether there was an irregular financing scheme. According to judicial sources, the next steps will aim to deepen the analysis of financial flows, contracts, and banking movements, with the objective of determining if there was a systematic scheme of fund diversion and illicit enrichment.
Researchers paid special attention to the links between Toviggino and the AFA's tax collector, Javier Faroni, whose company TourProdEnter is under scrutiny for alleged money laundering maneuvers and the diversion of around US$ 42 million to shell companies linked to the treasurer's circle.
The immigration and aeronautical records incorporated into the case indicate that the main destinations of the trips were Brazil, Ecuador, Spain, the United States, Paraguay, and Peru. That property, valued at around US$ 17 million, constitutes another of the sensitive points of the file.
The case is in the hands of Federal Judge Marcelo Aguinsky, who is analyzing the apparent incompatibility between the income declared by Toviggino and the high level of patrimonial expenses detected. For the judiciary, the acquisition and use of high-value assets, added to transfers in private aircraft, do not match the economic profile expected of a leader of a non-profit association.
Furthermore, investigators are examining the treasurer's ties with the firm Soma SRL, of which he was a shareholder, and the repeated use of aircraft belonging to Baires Fly SA, a company that is also being investigated for the alleged issuance of adulterated invoices and other accounting irregularities.
The case is part of a broader investigation into the management of funds within the AFA's circle and the collection circuits linked to the organization.
Among the aircraft used are high-end models, such as a Gulfstream G450 employed during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and a Bombardier Learjet 60XR belonging to the firm Listra 200 SA, a company associated with Faroni. The investigation also detected that the company Flyzar made at least 18 air transfers for the executive, while nearly 60 helicopter flights were counted to a mansion located in the Buenos Aires district of Pilar.
